At Oakwood Primary Academy we believe that dinner time is a good social opportunity for the children. School dinners are provided by our Facilities Management company, Carillion.
The children eat their lunch between 11:40 am – 1.00 pm
There is a cafeteria system with rolling lunchtimes as follows:
Foundation Stage (full time children) – 11:40 am – 12:30 pm
Key Stage 1 – 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm
Lower Key Stage 2 – 12:15 pm – 1:00 pm
(Year 3 follow the KS1 times in September and move to the KS2 once they have settled in).
School dinners always provide a ‘sandwich option’. All children are given water to drink at lunchtime.
Children may bring a packed lunch from home, but it is requested that they are only sent with fruit juice to drink, and not fizzy drinks.
The children are supervised in the playground by supervisory assistants. This supervision is overseen by the Mid-day Supervisor. Very minor accidents are dealt with by the supervisors; more major ones are dealt with by suitably qualified staff.
School Meal Prices, from September 2016, will be:
